Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 4-hour shifts (exact start/end times to be provided); RN - Med/Surg (Peds); orientation required

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for pediatric med/surg patients
Assess and monitor patient condition, recognizing changes and escalating as needed
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care plans
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and discharge planning
Document care clearly and timely in the patient record to maintain continuity
Participate in orientation activities and support new staff during onboarding

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse licensure in Missouri (or eligible for licensure)
Experience or interest in medical-surgical and pediatric nursing
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS and ACLS encouraged or preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively on a team
Reliable, professional, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of pediatric assessment and med/surg nursing principles
Medication administration and safety practices
Patient and family education techniques with empathy and clarity
Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical environment
Ability to document accurately and follow unit protocols
