Roles & Responsibilities

Provide attentive pre-operative nursing care to pediatric patients, ensuring safety and comfort
Perform thorough pre-op assessments and document findings accurately
Communicate clearly with surgical teams and families to prepare patients for procedures
Support child- and family-centered care practices in the pre-op setting
Participate in orientation and team handoffs to help maintain smooth patient flow

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) qualification — aligns with the RN role
Experience or comfort working in pediatric nursing and pre-operative care
Able to participate in facility-provided orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Pre-operative/pediatric nursing knowledge
Patient assessment and documentation skills
Family-centered communication
Understanding of perioperative safety and infection control practices
Team collaboration in a surgical setting
