Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents — bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting assistance
Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes in condition
Assist with safe mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics and equipment
Document resident care and observations clearly and promptly in the chart
Support mealtime assistance and monitor intake as needed
Follow infection control policies and maintain a safe, clean environment
Communicate effectively with nurses, families, and the interdisciplinary team to ensure person-centered care

Qualifications

Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in Connecticut (required)
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus
Able to pass background checks, drug screening, and any facility onboarding requirements
Reliable, compassionate, and patient-focused with strong teamwork skills

Education

High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
Valid CNA certification in Connecticut (required)

Knowledge & Skills

Basic nursing care and resident assistance skills
Vital signs measurement and documentation
Safe transfer and mobility techniques
Infection prevention and standard precautions
Clear, respectful communication with residents and team members
Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs
