Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to medical-surgical patients
Perform thorough patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications safely and manage IV therapy as indicated
Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and escalate concerns promptly
Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth discharges and transitions
Document clearly and accurately in the patient record to support continuity of care
Support and mentor colleagues, contributing to a positive unit culture

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required)
Experience in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg) — you know the rhythms of the floor
Comfortable and able to work 12.5-hour shifts as required by the unit
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Current BLS certification or willingness to obtain if required by the facility

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) — completion of a nursing program is expected

Knowledge & Skills

Solid skills in patient assessment and ongoing monitoring
Medication administration, IV management, and basic wound care
Familiarity with medical-surgical diagnoses and post-op care
Accurate charting and EMR navigation to keep patient information current
Effective communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
