Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patients' respiratory status and adjust care plans accordingly
Administer respiratory treatments and therapies safely and effectively
Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory support equipment
Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated care
Document patient status, treatments, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
Participate fully in orientation and training to ensure consistent, high quality care

Qualifications

Active state license or credential to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in Missouri (RRT or CRT preferred)
Current BLS/CPR certification; ACLS or PALS as required or preferred by facility
Clinical experience with respiratory care therapies and ventilator management preferred
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
Ability to pass facility onboarding and background checks

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field preferred
Completion of an accredited respiratory therapy program and national credentialing

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency with mechanical ventilators and respiratory equipment
Knowledge of arterial blood gas interpretation and oxygen therapy
Skilled in airway management and suctioning techniques
Comfortable with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
Ability to remain calm and decisive in acute care situations
