Candidate Pay Rate: $44 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess patients’ respiratory status and implement appropriate interventions
Deliver respiratory treatments and manage ventilator support safely
Monitor and document patient responses and progress accurately
Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and the clinical team to optimize care
Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and supplies
Participate in orientation and training to support unit consistency and quality
Educate patients and families on respiratory care and home strategies

Qualifications

Valid Respiratory Therapist license for Missouri or eligibility to obtain one
CRT or RRT credential preferred
Current BLS certification required; ACLS or PALS a plus depending on unit
Clinical experience in acute care, pediatrics, or similar settings preferred
Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team

Education

Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Airway management and ventilator knowledge
Competence with respiratory assessment and treatment modalities
Familiarity with infection control and patient safety practices
Comfort using electronic health records for documentation
Ability to prioritize and respond calmly in urgent situations
