Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive critical care nursing for adult ICU patients with compassion and precision
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition using evidence-based practice
• Operate and manage complex equipment such as ventilators and hemodynamic monitors
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and recovery plans
• Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Louisiana (or compact/multi-state license where applicable)
• Experience in adult ICU or critical care (preferred)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) preferred or obtained upon hire
• Comfortable with 12-hour shifts and working collaboratively on a fast-paced unit
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and effective communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of critical care assessment and interventions
• Ventilator management and respiratory support familiarity
• Proficiency with hemodynamic monitoring and titratable infusions
• Skilled in medication administration and IV therapy in ICU settings
• Comfortable using electronic health records and accurate documentation practices
• Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and prioritization skills
