Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in the Step-Down Unit
Monitor and interpret cardiac/hemodynamic data and respond promptly to changes
Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate outstanding care
Administer medications and therapies safely and document all care accurately
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge care
Participate in unit-based performance improvement and safety initiatives

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN) — listed as primary skill for this role
Experience or comfort working in a Step-Down Unit (SDU) setting
Active RN licensure in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain licensure
Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to act decisively in acute situations
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; positive attitude and adaptability

Education

Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in patient monitoring and telemetry interpretation relevant to SDU care
Competent in medication administration, IV therapy and documentation best practices
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Familiarity with interdisciplinary care coordination and discharge planning
