Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM (days) or 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM (nights), rotating; every 3rd weekend and holiday

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to MedSurg and Emergency Department patients
Admit, discharge, and transfer patients efficiently
Titrate medications including insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, and levophed
Start IVs and manage PICC/port access
Participate in code responses (cardiorespiratory, stroke, sepsis) and trauma response
Read and document EKGs using Mindray monitors
Float between MedSurg and ED as patient volume dictates
Collaborate with hospitalists and coordinate flight transport when needed
Maintain compliance with EMTALA regulations

Qualifications

Active RN license in Minnesota
Minimum 1 year of ER experience required
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required
Ability to work independently with minimal support
Comfortable with telemetry monitoring and reading own strips
Experience with Meditech EMR preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong critical thinking and rapid assessment skills
Proficiency in starting IVs and managing drips
Knowledge of emergency and med-surg protocols
Ability to manage high-acuity patients including critical/trauma
Excellent communication with multidisciplinary team
Adaptable to fast-paced, low-staffing environment
