Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients with conditions such as post-op, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, and infections
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips, titrate heparin drips as ordered
• Float to other med/surg/tele units as needed, maintaining a 1:4-5 patient ratio
• Perform sterile procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes (SIMs Lab pass/fail)
• Collaborate with resource RN and charge nurse to ensure safe patient care
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team and educate patients and families

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in Arizona or compact state
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Recent med/surg experience (minimum 1 year preferred)
• Level 1 trauma experience required
• Must pass dysrhythmia exam prior to contract start (2 attempts, 6-month DNU if failed)
• No first-time travelers accepted
• Comfortable floating and adapting to fast-paced environment
• Must have reliable transportation and natural hair color; no facial piercings; men must be clean-shaven for fit test

Knowledge & Skills

• Med/Surg nursing expertise
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Charge nurse experience a plus
• Proficiency in sterile technique for Foley and central line care
• Ability to titrate heparin drips
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
