Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, rotating days/nights, including every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $91 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to high-risk OB patients and support safe deliveries
Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vitals using advanced EFM technology
Collaborate with in-house laborists, anesthesiologists, and NICU team for high-risk deliveries
Document care in Cerner EMR and ensure perinatal initiatives compliance
Assist with C-sections and provide immediate newborn care including skin-to-skin bonding
Float to postpartum or NICU as needed to support unit needs

Qualifications

Active RN license in California
BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Advanced EFM certifications required
Minimum 2 years of L&D experience (no first-time travelers)
Strong IV skills and comfort with Cerner EMR
Ability to work every other weekend and major holidays as scheduled

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in labor and delivery nursing practices
Proficient in Cerner and fetal monitoring systems
Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines and Baby-Friendly initiatives
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
Team collaboration and effective communication
