Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, days (may consider nights), every other weekend, holiday as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $71 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive care to labor and delivery patients in a 15-bed LDRP unit
Monitor and support patients during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases
Titrate medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Procardia
Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe deliveries and high patient satisfaction
Educate mothers on breastfeeding and postpartum care in a breast-feeding friendly environment
Maintain a calm and reassuring presence during emergencies and high-stress situations

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of recent labor and delivery experience required
Current BLS and NRP certifications (required at submission)
Valid driver's license (must be submitted for radius verification)
Ability to pass an open book exam with 90% during orientation
Compliance with fingernail policy: no artificial nails in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

Skill in fetal monitoring and interpretation
Experience titrating IV drips and managing OB emergencies
Comfortable caring for high-risk pregnancies (HTN, diabetes)
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
