Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour day/night shifts (6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM), 36 hours per week, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in a 33-bed ICU with an average daily census of 16
Manage patients with trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-stent, pacemaker, stroke, and respiratory distress
Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation as needed
Interpret telemetry strips and monitor rhythms using GE monitors
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurse aides and respiratory therapists
Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed, maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios

Qualifications

Current, unrestricted RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Minimum of BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Valid driver's license (required at submittal to verify residency outside 50 miles)
Ability to pass an open-book exam during orientation with a 90% score
No artificial nails while providing patient care

Knowledge & Skills

Proven expertise in ICU nursing, including titration of drips
Strong telemetry interpretation skills
Familiarity with GE monitors and telemetry systems
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
