Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM, every third weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert critical care to ICU patients including those on ventilators and titratable drips
Manage complex medical cases such as sepsis, respiratory failure, stroke, and MI
Collaborate with hospitalists and intensivists in a fast-paced environment
Float to PCU when ICU census allows, ensuring continuity of care
Participate in orientation and pass an open-book exam to ensure competency

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of ICU experience preferred
Previous travel experience preferred
Active and unrestricted RN license in Iowa or compact state
Driver's license required at submittal for radius verification
Must pass a 90% pass/fail open-book exam during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in managing drips such as vasopressors and sedation (levophed, neosynephrine, cardene, precedex, propofol)
Experience with ventilators, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
Strong ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
Knowledge of DKA, STEMI, stroke, a-fib RVR, and PE management
