Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert, patient-centered nursing care in the CVICU, managing complex post-op and critically ill cardiac patients
• Manage ventilators and advanced airway care with vigilance and clinical judgement
• Perform hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz catheter interpretation and management
• Care for arterial lines, central lines, chest tubes and other invasive devices safely and competently
• Operate and monitor CRRT and other advanced support devices when indicated
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in Meditech EMR to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Serve as a team player on a busy unit with a 2:1 patient ratio, contributing to a positive, safety-focused culture

Qualifications

• Active RN license (required)
• Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience (adult ICU/CVICU/Neuro ICU or other critical care specialty) required
• Strong ventilator management and invasive line (arterial/central/chest tube) management skills
• Experience with hemodynamic monitoring, Swan-Ganz, and CRRT preferred
• CVICU-specific experience, CABG recovery, and Impella exposure are a plus
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• BSN and CCRN preferred but not strictly required

Education

• RN licensure (required)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced understanding of cardiovascular critical care principles and post-op cardiac management
• Hands-on experience with ventilators and ventilator weaning
• Proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation (Swan-Ganz, arterial waves)
• Familiarity with CRRT technologies and troubleshooting
• Comfortable with bedside devices: GE monitors, EV1000, Hemispheres, Impella, chest tubes
• Ability to document and communicate clearly using Meditech EMR
• Strong teamwork, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
