Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day shift); note: some schedules list 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM M-F. Weekend rotation required (must work either Saturday or Sunday) and holiday rotation included. 8-hour shifts, full-time, 40 hours/week.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered physical therapy care in inpatient and/or outpatient settings
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients with orthopedic, neurologic, pediatric and rehab needs
• Perform rehabilitative interventions for spinal cord injury, stroke, brain injury, general inpatient and sub-acute patients
• Accurately document patient care in the Cerner EMR to maintain clear clinical records
• Collaborate with PT/OT/Speech and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and transitions
• Participate in floor-specific orientation (three shifts) and ongoing training to ensure competency
• Support safe care of complex patients including ICU, cardiac, bariatric and ventilator-dependent/sub-acute patients as assigned
• Cover assigned sites (on-campus inpatient units or freestanding outpatient clinics) based on staffing needs

Qualifications

• Active Physical Therapist license (as required by state) and ability to submit license documentation
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience (explicit requirement)
• Experience charting in Cerner EMR or similar electronic medical record systems
• Comfort working with a diverse patient population including ortho, neuro, pediatrics, lymphedema and complex rehab
• Ability to work weekends and holidays as part of a rotation
• Strong teamwork, communication, and documentation skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions for orthopedic and neurologic diagnoses
• Experience with inpatient rehab, general inpatient, and sub-acute care environments
• Familiarity with vented patient care and ICU/critical care considerations
• Able to adapt to both outpatient clinic settings (ortho/sports medicine) and inpatient units
• Proficient documentation practices and use of Cerner EMR
• Comfort collaborating with interdisciplinary teams including OT and Speech
