Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity emergency nursing care as an ER Float RN across multiple satellite sites
• Triage, assess, and stabilize patients quickly and confidently
• Manage ventilated patients and perform ventilator-focused interventions when required
• Perform and document nursing procedures such as Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing care (SIMs Lab validation required)
• Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and participate in required dysrhythmia competency testing
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and communicate clearly in Cerner
• Maintain sterile field and infection control practices to protect patients and staff
• Deliver compassionate patient education and coordinate safe transfers or dispositions

Qualifications

• Active RN license eligible for Arizona practice
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (ER or related acute care preferred)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; TNCC required
• Comfortable with 12-hour night shifts and floating between multiple ER satellite locations
• Competence in ventilator management and dysrhythmia recognition
• Able to pass a dysrhythmia exam (up to 2 attempts) and a pass/fail SIMs Lab on Day 1 of orientation
• Not full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity facility within the past year (radius rule applies)

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required (BSN listed as not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency nursing assessment and prioritization
• Ventilator management and care of respiratory-compromised patients
• Dysrhythmia recognition and ACLS algorithms
• Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing techniques
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records
• Wound care, patient lifting/transfers, and safe restraint practices
• Strong critical thinking, teamwork, and clear clinical communication
