Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate bedside care and assist patients with activities of daily living
• Safely transfer and position patients, using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Monitor and document patient condition, reporting changes to nursing staff promptly
• Support mobility, hygiene, feeding, and comfort needs with dignity and respect
• Assist clinical team with vital signs, intake/output tracking, and routine care tasks
• Contribute to a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of California
• Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain promptly)
• Comfortable working overnight 12-hour shifts
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff
• Preferred: prior experience in long-term care, acute care, or hospital settings
• Ability to pass background check and any required health screenings/immunizations

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Active CNA certification (state-specific)

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient hygiene, bathing, dressing, and toileting assistance
• Safe transfer and ambulation techniques; use of gait belts and lift equipment
• Basic vital signs measurement and documentation
• Familiarity with infection control, PPE use, and hand hygiene standards
• Effective verbal and written communication for charting and handoffs
• Time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs during a night shift
