Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality medical-surgical nursing care for adult patients
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, responding promptly to changes in patient status
• Safely administer medications and manage titratable Heparin per protocol
• Collaborate closely with respiratory therapy, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC
• Support and coordinate with nursing assistants to ensure safe patient assignments and handoffs
• Complete unit-specific orientation and demonstrate competency on required skills and assessments

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license (state or compact privileges valid for Nebraska submission)
• BLS Certification required
• Driver's license required at time of submittal (used to confirm 50-mile radius eligibility)
• Minimum 1 year acute care/medical-surgical nursing experience preferred
• Experience with telemetry and care of medical, surgical and orthopedics patients is a plus
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and able to float to PCU or Burn as needed
• Willingness to comply with facility policies (e.g., no artificial nails in patient care areas) and pass orientation competency testing

Education

• Active RN license required; ADN/Associate or BSN acceptable (BSN not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong med-surg assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Ability to collaborate with RT for patient respiratory needs
• Medication administration including IV Heparin titration protocols
• Effective communication and teamwork in a 1:5-6 staffing environment
