Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialized neonatal care for infants in a NICU setting, monitoring vitals and responding to changes
• Implement and coordinate evidence-based nursing interventions tailored to each newborn
• Collaborate closely with neonatologists, respiratory therapists and the interdisciplinary team to optimize outcomes
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently using EPIC charting
• Perform neonatal resuscitation and stabilization using NRP and STABLE protocols when needed
• Educate and support families, communicating complex information with compassion and clarity
• Participate in shift handoffs, ensuring continuity of care and safe transitions

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice or eligible to obtain one
• BSN required
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience, NICU experience strongly preferred
• BLS certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• STABLE certification required
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Willingness to complete a 12-hour orientation

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of neonatal physiology and critical care principles
• Skilled in neonatal assessment, ventilator support basics and advanced monitoring
• Proficient with EPIC for accurate and timely documentation
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking and the ability to act decisively in emergencies
• Excellent communication and family-centered care skills
• Teamwork mindset and adaptability in a fast-paced acute care environment
