Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor and manage med-tele and swing-bed patients with compassion and clinical accuracy
• Initiate IV starts and provide IV therapy safely and efficiently
• Insert and manage NG tubes and Foley catheters according to protocol
• Interpret ECG strips and monitor telemetry using Mindray systems
• Set up and troubleshoot respiratory equipment (BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC) and assist with ventilator management when needed
• Document patient care and clinical findings in MEDITECH accurately and promptly
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, float to Med/Tele/Obs/Swingbed as required, and contribute to a positive unit culture
• Participate on the code team when called and respond calmly in emergencies

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (eligible to submit)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience (medical/telemetry or acute care experience preferred)
• Demonstrated competency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, NG tube and Foley insertion
• Comfortable and competent with BiPAP, CPAP and HFNC setup and troubleshooting
• Experience with Meditech or comparable electronic charting systems preferred
• Ability to work nights, float between specified units, and cover every-other weekends/holidays

Education

• Active RN license required
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and ECG strip interpretation
• IV therapy and peripheral IV starts
• NG tube care and enteral management
• Foley catheter insertion and urinary management
• Respiratory equipment setup (BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC) and basic ventilator troubleshooting
• Familiarity with Mindray telemetry monitors
• Clinical documentation using MEDITECH
• Strong teamwork, flexibility and patient-centered communication
