Location: Bakersfield, California

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with rotating call after hours and weekends

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $67 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures including cardiac, SPECT, bone scans, bleed studies, and gastric emptying studies
Operate GE equipment and utilize Radnet and Merge Unity for image management
Ensure patient safety and comfort during examinations
Collaborate with radiologists and lead tech to provide high-quality diagnostic images
Maintain accurate patient records and follow radiation safety protocols
Float to Mercy Downtown (approx 6.5 miles away) as needed to support other areas

Qualifications

Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
California State Nuclear Medicine Technologist License (CA NMTL)
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Ability to start IVs is not required for this position
Strong communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in SPECT and cardiac imaging
Experience with GE nuclear medicine equipment
Familiarity with Radnet and Merge Unity PACS/EMR systems
Knowledge of bone scan, bleed study, and gastric emptying protocols
Excellent patient care and interpersonal abilities
