Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up operating rooms and surgical instruments with precision
• Maintain strict sterile technique to protect patient safety throughout procedures
• Anticipate surgeon needs and pass instruments efficiently during cases
• Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts before and after procedures
• Assist with room turnover and ensure supplies and equipment are ready for the next case
• Document intraoperative activities and communicate clearly with the surgical team
• Participate in orientation and training to support a smooth onboarding experience

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent hands-on experience
• Certification (CST) preferred; candidates in progress or recently certified are welcome
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain upon hire
• Comfort working in a fast-paced operating room environment and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to sterile technique and safety protocols
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning when needed

Education

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (diploma, certificate, or associate degree)
• High school diploma or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough understanding of perioperative instrumentation and surgical supplies
• Skilled in sterile field management and aseptic technique
• Clear, professional communication with surgeons, nurses, and support staff
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively during turnovers
• Familiarity with basic electronic charting or willingness to learn
