Shift Type: 12.5-hour shifts (Neuro Stepdown/SDU); exact start/end times and days to be confirmed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor neuro stepdown patients, responding to changes in condition promptly
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following physician orders
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient-centered care plans
Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret trends to inform care decisions
Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
Document care thoroughly and timely in the electronic health record to ensure continuity
Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (Louisiana) required
Experience in Neuro Stepdown / SDU preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and demonstrated ability to manage higher-acuity patients
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; dependable and patient-focused

Education

Active RN license in Louisiana
BSN preferred (or equivalent clinical experience)

Knowledge & Skills

Neuro-focused assessment and monitoring
Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
Medication administration and IV therapy
Critical thinking and timely clinical decision-making
Clear documentation and familiarity with electronic health records
Patient and family education, discharge planning, and care coordination
