Candidate Pay Rate: $54 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients in the PACU
Monitor vital signs and recovery progress, responding promptly to changes
Collaborate with anesthesia and surgical teams to ensure safe handoffs
Educate families on recovery expectations and discharge instructions
Document patient status and interventions clearly in the medical record
Participate in orientation and support colleagues to maintain high quality care

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license or ability to obtain Missouri licensure
Experience or interest in PACU nursing with pediatric patients
Current BLS required; PALS strongly recommended or preferred
Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to act quickly in recovery scenarios
Excellent communication and family-centered care skills
Willingness to participate in orientation and unit-specific training

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric post-anesthesia recovery care and monitoring
Airway and pain management basics for post-op pediatric patients
Familiarity with perioperative team communication and handoff processes
Electronic medical record documentation and medication administration
Ability to prioritize, triage, and escalate care when needed
Compassionate family education and bedside manner with kids
