Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patient conditions, acting quickly to report changes
Deliver safe, compassionate Med/Surg care with a pediatric focus
Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create patient-centered plans
Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care
Participate in orientation and training to maintain unit standards and quality

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (active and in good standing)
Experience or training in Med/Surg nursing; pediatric experience a plus
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; PALS preferred
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Ability to complete orientation and training as part of onboarding
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Completion of required unit orientation prior to independent practice

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of Med/Surg nursing practices with pediatric considerations
Skill administering medications, IV therapy and common nursing procedures
Comfortable using electronic medical records (EMR) for documentation
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
Strong patient education and family-centered care skills
Infection control practices and safety-focused mindset
