Surgical Tech – UHC Staffing

Location: Santa Cruz, California

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 10-hour shifts, 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM with call for night shift and weekends

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare operating rooms and ensure all equipment is ready for procedures
Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and supplies
Maintain sterile field and follow strict infection control protocols
Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver exceptional patient care
Handle surgical specimens with care and accuracy
Support smooth transitions between cases to keep the OR running efficiently

Qualifications

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Experience as a Surgical Tech in the operating room
Strong attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments
Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient with Cerner Surginet EMR system
Knowledge of Phillips telemetry and Draeger ventilation equipment
Understanding of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
Ability to rotate through weekends and take call as needed
