Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality care to neuro-telemetry patients including those recovering from strokes, brain injuries, and spinal surgeries
Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret EKGs to ensure patient safety on a fast-paced unit
Administer and titrate medications such as Heparin, Amiodarone, and Cardizem while closely observing patient responses
Collaborate with a dedicated charge nurse and supportive team of aides to deliver seamless bedside care
Float to cardiac telemetry and med-surg units as needed, showcasing your versatility and clinical expertise
Maintain accurate documentation in Cerner while delivering patient-centered bedside reports

Qualifications

Active RN license in Arizona or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience
Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred
Neuro experience is a plus
Ability to pass a dysrhythmia exam with up to 2 attempts
Comfortable with central line care, Foley insertion, and sterile technique

Knowledge & Skills

Strong EKG interpretation and cardiac monitoring skills
Experience with trached patients, CVA, TBI, and spinal surgery recovery
Ability to manage vents is not required but comfort with high-turnover units is essential
Familiarity with Cerner EMR and WOW documentation
Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication during bedside reporting
