Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and manage complex wounds using evidence-based wound care practices
• Perform wound treatments and dressing changes with precision and compassion
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on wound prevention, care, and healing goals
• Document assessments, treatments, and progress accurately in the patient record
• Monitor for signs of infection and escalate concerns promptly to the care team
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in West Virginia (or eligible to obtain state licensure prior to start)
• Minimum clinical experience caring for patients with complex wounds preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) required; wounds certifications (WCC/Certified Wound Care) a plus
• Ability to pass background check and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a clinical team
• Wound Care Nurse interview required prior to offer

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Wound assessment and staging, dressing selection, negative pressure wound therapy familiarity
• Strong documentation skills and use of electronic medical records
• Infection control practices and sterile/aseptic technique
• Patient and caregiver education with clear, compassionate communication
• Time management and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Ability to collaborate with physicians, therapists, and ancillary staff
