Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care as an RN for assigned patients
• Perform wound assessments, develop and implement individualized wound care plans
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Document care accurately in the patient record and communicate changes promptly
• Educate patients and families on wound prevention, care techniques, and follow-up
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure safe wound treatment practices
• Participate in wound care interviews and competency checks as required prior to offer

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — West Virginia license or compact accepted as applicable
• Proven experience or strong interest in wound care nursing (Wound Care interview required prior to offer)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; advanced certifications a plus (e.g., WCC, WOCN, ACLS)
• Comfortable with patient assessment, documentation, and EHR workflows
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team-based setting
• Professional attitude, reliability, and ability to adapt to facility schedules

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Successful completion of NCLEX-RN and active RN licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Wound assessment, staging, and dressing selection
• Infection control principles and sterile technique
• Patient-centered education and discharge planning
• Familiarity with common wound care supplies and topical agents
• Basic IV and medication administration knowledge
• Proficient documentation practices and electronic health record use
