Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the med/surg unit
• Assess and monitor patients’ conditions, including vital signs and responses to treatment
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Coordinate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to execute care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning
• Document care and patient progress clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Maintain a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Alabama or a valid compact RN license
• Med/Surg nursing experience (preferred: prior med/surg unit experience)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and manage a fast-paced workload
• Clear background check and up-to-date immunizations as required by facility

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or Diploma); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Proficient documentation in electronic medical records
• Good communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Time management and ability to prioritize patient needs
• Basic wound care and post-op/medical complication recognition
