Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on a Med/Surg unit
• Assess patients, monitor conditions, and document changes accurately
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to create and implement care plans
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Respond quickly and effectively to changes in patient condition and escalate concerns as needed
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control best practices

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama (or compact multistate RN license as applicable)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Clinical experience or training in Medical-Surgical nursing (Med/Surg)
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Able to work assigned night shifts and provide reliable coverage

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in Med/Surg patient assessments and interventions
• Familiarity with medication administration and documentation systems
• Knowledge of infection control standards and safety practices
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with diverse patients and care teams
