Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately
• Monitor patient status, intervene as needed, and escalate concerns to the care team
• Document care clearly and promptly in the electronic health record
• Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other disciplines to deliver cohesive care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Maintain safety, infection control, and quality standards on your unit
• Contribute to positive patient experiences by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) credential required
• Alabama RN license preferred; compact license holders may be considered
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or available on hire depending on facility policy
• Experience in Med/Surg nursing or similar acute care setting preferred
• Comfortable working 12-hour day shifts and providing direct bedside care
• Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) accepted; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid Med/Surg clinical assessment and monitoring
• Medication administration and IV therapy competence
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond to changing patient needs
• Effective communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Basic telemetry and wound care knowledge helpful
