Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor pediatric med/surg patients, noticing subtle changes and acting promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following facility protocols
• Document patient care clearly in the electronic health record so the whole team stays informed
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and multidisciplinary staff to create patient-centered plans
• Provide compassionate education and support to patients and families during hospitalization
• Participate fully in orientation and training to maintain high standards of care
• Adhere to infection control, safety policies and clinical best practices to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, eligible to practice in California
• Experience or strong interest in Med/Surg and Pediatric nursing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; pediatric certifications a plus
• Comfortable with medication administration, IV care and acute patient monitoring
• Excellent communication skills and a team-first mindset
• Willingness to complete facility orientation as required

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong pediatric assessment skills and knowledge of med/surg care
• Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
• Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation
• Ability to prioritize, multitask and work effectively under pressure
• Compassionate bedside manner and clear family education skills
• Team collaboration, time management and clinical problem-solving
