Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care on a medical-surgical unit, delivering compassionate bedside nursing
• Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record clearly and timely
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
• Prioritize patient safety and participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain licensure
• Clinical experience or interest in Medical-Surgical nursing (experience preferred but new grads with strong clinical skills welcomed)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS or other certifications a plus
• Comfort and competence working 12-hour shifts
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Medication administration and IV therapy knowledge
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong patient education and family communication skills
