Location: Canon City, Colorado

End Date: 09-21-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating day and night shifts, self-scheduling with balanced schedule provided to manager, 3 weekends in a 6-week schedule, rotating holidays, call requirement per census

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $75 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to laboring mothers and newborns in a supportive LDRP setting
Monitor and titrate critical medications including Pitocin, Magnesium, Insulin, and D10
Interpret fetal monitoring strips and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
Collaborate with a dedicated team to support high-risk pregnancies including diabetes and substance use cases
Float within Zone 1 facilities when needed to ensure excellent patient care across the region

Qualifications

Active Colorado or compact nursing license
ACLS, NRP, AWHONN EFM, and STABLE certifications required
LDRP experience strongly preferred
Ability to read and interpret fetal monitoring strips independently
Willingness to participate in rotating call and weekend coverage

Knowledge & Skills

Strong fetal monitoring interpretation skills
Experience with high-BMI and diabetic obstetric patients
Comfort managing patients with substance use disorders
Ability to work collaboratively in a small, supportive team
Flexibility to float within designated facilities when needed
