Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care in the ICU setting during weekend night shifts
• Monitor and interpret complex cardiac and hemodynamic data and respond promptly to changes
• Manage ventilators, infusion pumps, and advanced life support equipment with expertise
• Perform thorough assessments, develop nursing plans, and document care accurately in the EHR
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families with compassion about conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
• Prioritize patient safety, infection control, and evidence-based practice during every shift

Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Alabama (compact privilege or state license as applicable)
• Recent ICU experience — comfortable managing critically ill adult patients
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Demonstrated competency with ventilator management and critical care monitoring
• Ability to work weekend night 12-hour shifts and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred but all eligible RN-prepared candidates will be considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Critical care assessment and intervention
• Ventilator management and arterial line/central line care
• Cardiac monitoring and interpretation
• IV medication administration, titration, and infusion pump use
• Accurate EHR documentation and report handoffs
• Prioritization, time management, and crisis resource management
• Collaborative communication with interdisciplinary teams
