Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality critical care nursing for adult ICU patients with compassion and precision
• Monitor and interpret complex patient data, including hemodynamics and ventilator parameters
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage advanced life support therapies safely
• Perform thorough assessments and document timely, accurate clinical notes
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the interdisciplinary team to develop and execute care plans
• Educate patients and families about conditions, treatments, and care goals with empathy
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license valid in Alabama (compact license accepted if applicable)
• ICU or critical care experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) highly recommended
• Strong clinical judgment, ability to manage high-acuity patients, and solid communication skills
• Ability to work scheduled night 12-hour shifts and adapt to fast-paced ICU environment

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Ventilator management and assessment of respiratory status
• Hemodynamic monitoring and titration of vasoactive medications
• Care of arterial and central lines, drains, and complex wound/IV management
• Strong patient assessment and critical thinking skills in acute settings
• Clear, professional communication with patients, families, and care teams
• Competence with electronic medical records and timely clinical documentation
