Shift Type: Three 12-hour shifts per week (36-hour guarantee), 4-week repeating cycle: Mondays & Tuesdays 5:30 AM - 6:00 PM (12-hour day); two Wednesdays per 4-week cycle 5:30 PM - 6:00 AM (12-hour night); one weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) per 4-week cycle 5:30 AM - 6:00 PM (12-hour day). Alternative schedule option: Mondays & Tuesdays 5:30 AM - 6:00 PM and every Wednesday 5:30 PM - 6:00 AM. (Rotating day/night)

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and therapeutic modalities to evaluate and treat patients following protocols.
• Deliver medications via aerosol and metered dose inhalers with precision and patient education.
• Respond immediately to Rapid Responses, arrests, and STAT situations — maintain artificial airways and deliver CPR and advanced life support when needed.
• Set up and manage all oxygen therapies according to protocol, ensuring patient safety and equipment integrity.
• Perform cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing and interpret results to guide treatment plans.
• Document care and interventions accurately in the Epic EMR to support continuity and quality of care.
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to optimize respiratory and overall patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Active RRT credential (NBRC) — required
• Active Michigan state respiratory license (LARA) — must state Active Michigan/MI License
• Minimum 2+ years of RRT experience — required
• Active American Heart Association certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS — required
• Active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification — required
• Previous travel work experience — preferred
• Provide work history, current skills checklist (within 1 year), and 2 supervisory reference forms from the last two years
• Candidates must provide permanent address (facility will not consider local candidates within a 100-mile radius)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong airway management and oxygen therapy skills
• Proficient with aerosol therapy and metered-dose inhaler administration
• Experience with emergency response, CPR, and life support protocols
• Skilled in cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing and therapeutic interventions
• Comfortable documenting and navigating patient care within Epic EMR
• Ability to work independently and consult with physicians as needed
• Excellent situational awareness and teamwork in high-acuity settings
