Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care in the emergency department
• Rapidly assess, triage and prioritize patient needs in a fast-paced setting
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and in a timely manner
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document patient condition, interventions and outcomes clearly and professionally
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments and follow-up care
• Maintain situational awareness and respond effectively to emergent changes

Qualifications

• Current, active RN license (eligible for Hawaii licensure preferred)
• Previous Emergency Department (ED/ER) nursing experience preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Current clinical competency in triage, IV therapy and emergency interventions
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as required

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage and rapid assessment skills specific to emergency care
• Competence with electronic health records and clinical documentation
• Proficiency in IV/med administration and emergency equipment
• Ability to prioritize under pressure and manage multiple critical patients
• Strong patient/family education and de-escalation skills
