Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and triage emergency patients quickly and accurately to prioritize urgent care
• Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing interventions in the fast-paced ED environment
• Administer medications, monitor responses and document care clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, techs and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients, initiating life-saving measures when needed
• Communicate compassionately with patients and families, keeping them informed during stressful moments
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement and safety initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license in Hawaii or eligibility for state licensure
• Current BLS certification required, ACLS preferred or soon after hire
• Emergency Department clinical experience preferred; strong triage and critical care skills
• Comfort with 12.5-hour shifts and the pace of an ED environment
• Excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills and teamwork mindset
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required background and health screenings

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Triage principles and emergency nursing protocols
• Ability to assess, prioritize and manage multiple acute patients simultaneously
• Proficiency in patient documentation and clear clinical communication
• Familiarity with common ED equipment and monitoring
• Critical thinking, rapid decision-making and high situational awareness
• Compassionate patient-centered approach and the ability to work well under pressure
