Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, timely emergency care to patients of all ages
• Perform rapid triage and focused clinical assessments in a busy ED
• Administer medications, start and manage IV therapy, and monitor patient response
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient status accurately in the EHR
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and follow up
• Respond quickly and effectively to codes and urgent clinical changes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Alabama (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Previous emergency department experience preferred
• Strong critical thinking, delegation, and communication skills

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency triage and rapid assessment
• IV therapy, medication administration, and acute care interventions
• Familiarity with electronic health record documentation
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-acuity patients
• Teamwork, clear communication, and calm decision making under pressure
• Infection control and safe patient handling practices
