Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess behavioral health needs and deliver compassionate, patient-centered care
• Implement and revise individualized care plans in collaboration with the team
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation using best-practice approaches
• Administer medications safely and monitor patient responses
• Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes clearly and timely in the medical record
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members and families to coordinate care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — eligible or current licensure for practice (New Hampshire/compact considerations apply)
• Experience or interest in behavioral health nursing (previous BHS/RN behavioral health experience preferred)
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification; additional behavioral health certifications a plus
• Strong clinical assessment, crisis intervention, and therapeutic communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary behavioral health team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred or equivalent experience

Knowledge & Skills

• Clinical knowledge of behavioral health assessment and interventions
• Skilled in crisis management and de-escalation techniques
• Familiarity with medication administration and monitoring in psychiatric settings
• Competent documentation and use of electronic health records
• Excellent communication, empathy, and teamwork abilities
