Physical Therapist – UHC Staffing

Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 05-27-2026

End Date: 08-26-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM shifts, one weekend every third weekend

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver hands-on physical therapy to a diverse acute inpatient population
Assess and treat patients recovering from surgery, stroke, and general medical conditions
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across medical-surgical, ICU, and ER units
Create individualized rehab plans that help patients regain strength and independence
Educate patients and families on safe mobility techniques and recovery goals

Qualifications

Active California Physical Therapist license required
BLS certification required
Acute inpatient physical therapy experience strongly preferred
Comfortable working across multiple hospital units including ICU and ER

Knowledge & Skills

Strong patient assessment and clinical reasoning skills
Experience with post-surgical, orthopedic, and neurological patients
Ability to manage a caseload of 12+ patients per day
Clear communication and teamwork across disciplines
