Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate basic care to patients, assisting with activities of daily living
Assist nursing staff with patient transfers, positioning, and mobility
Monitor and record vital signs and patient observations accurately
Maintain clear, timely documentation of care and patient status
Communicate changes in patient condition to the nursing team promptly
Support a clean, safe environment by adhering to infection control practices
Build trusting relationships with patients and families through respectful interaction

Qualifications

Valid CNA certification in New York State
Current BLS/CPR certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
Comfortable with patient lifting and physical demands of the role
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Prior experience in long-term care or acute care settings is a plus

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Current CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic patient care and ADL assistance
Skill in taking and recording vital signs accurately
Familiarity with infection control and safety procedures
Good documentation practices and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills and patient-centered care approach
Ability to follow care plans and work collaboratively with clinical staff
