Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility needs
- Take and record vital signs and report any changes to the nursing team
- Support safe transfers and use proper body mechanics to protect residents and yourself
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and communicate effectively with team members
- Follow infection control, safety protocols and facility policies at all times
- Create a warm, respectful environment that preserves resident dignity and independence
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program
- Comfortable assisting with personal care and mobility for adult residents
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a care team
- Background check and any facility-required screenings (as applicable)
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Completion of a state-approved CNA training program (required for certification)
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic bedside care
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Understanding of infection control and resident safety practices
- Compassionate interpersonal skills and patience with older adults
- Basic familiarity with electronic health records or charting systems
