Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) with dignity and respect
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team
• Support safe patient mobility and transfers, using proper body mechanics
• Document care and observations accurately and promptly in patient records
• Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients
• Communicate compassionately with patients and families, keeping them informed
• Follow infection control protocols and facility policies to ensure patient safety
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary staff to deliver coordinated care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential in good standing (required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or required per facility policy
• Up-to-date immunizations and successful background / drug screening as required by the employer
• Comfortable assisting with patient mobility and personal care tasks
• Reliable, punctual, and able to communicate clearly with patients and team members
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar setting is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current CNA certification (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing and patient care principles
• Ability to take and accurately record vital signs
• Familiarity with infection control and hygiene practices
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with patients and coworkers
• Basic charting and documentation skills (electronic or paper charts)
• Teamwork mindset and the ability to follow directions from nursing staff
