Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, hands-on basic patient care in an acute care setting
Assist patients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding) safely and respectfully
Accurately measure and record vital signs and report clinical changes to the nursing team
Support safe patient transfers and mobility, using proper body mechanics
Maintain clean, organized patient environments and follow infection-control protocols
Document care thoroughly and communicate effectively with RNs and interdisciplinary staff
Contribute to a positive patient experience by showing empathy, patience, and professionalism

Qualifications

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
Experience or familiarity with acute care settings — preferred
Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset
Current CPR/BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) — recommended

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred; CNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

Fundamentals of patient hygiene, toileting, and ADL assistance
Basic vital sign measurement and recognizing clinical changes
Infection prevention and standard precautions
Safe patient handling and transfer techniques
Accurate documentation and handoff communication
Ability to work in a fast-paced acute care environment
