Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, Night shift (30-minute meal break); days not specified

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $42 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care during the night shift
Perform thorough patient assessments and document changes in condition
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
Respond quickly and effectively to patient needs and clinical emergencies
Educate patients and families on care plans, treatments and discharge instructions
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and handoffs

Qualifications

Current and active RN or LPN license in the State of Maine
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS or PALS as applicable preferred
Prior clinical experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred
Strong assessment skills, clinical judgment and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a patient-first mindset

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN, diploma or LPN certificate)
BSN preferred for Registered Nurses when available

Knowledge & Skills

Skilled in medication administration, patient assessment and wound care
Familiarity with electronic health records and accurate documentation practices
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time during overnight shifts
Understanding of infection control practices and patient safety standards
Comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment and handling emergencies
