Roles & Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for referrals and patients, providing a welcoming and informative experience
• Conduct initial examinations and thorough patient assessments to inform care plans
• Attend patient consultations and collaborate closely with the interventional radiologist
• Perform daily rounds and communicate patient progress to the medical team and radiologist
• Assist with and support interventional procedures including cardiac catheterization, EP ablations, peripheral and cerebral angiograms, TEE, and cardioversions
• Make evidence-based recommendations to the referring physician, patient, and family under the guidance of the interventional radiologist
• Deliver safe moderate sedation and monitor patients throughout the peri-procedural period
• Document care accurately in the EMR (Cerner) and ensure timely handoffs

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years current experience in cardiac cath and interventional radiology (required)
• Experience providing moderate sedation (required)
• Active Illinois nursing license (agency IL nursing license copy required for submission)
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications (must be active at time of submission)
• COVID and flu vaccination required (declinations will not be approved) — please include vaccination status in your profile
• Prior travel experience highly preferred
• Prior Cerner EMR experience highly preferred
• Current resume, skills checklist (within 1 year), 2 supervisory references, active certifications and license required for submission

Education

• Active Illinois RN license required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Experience with interventional radiology and cardiac cath lab workflows
• Proficiency in moderate sedation and peri-procedural monitoring
• Familiarity with procedures: EP ablations, peripheral and cerebral angiograms, TEE, cardioversions
• Excellent communication skills for updating teams, patients, and families
• Comfort documenting in Cerner or similar EMR systems
• Ability to care for adult and geriatric populations with sensitivity and professionalism
• Infection control, safety protocols, and adherence to ACLS/BLS standards
